I have 20+ years of experience teaching horsemanship: this translates to teach all aspects of the horse experience—communication, grooming, tacking, riding, health and daily care, maintenance, etc. I understand that every individual is unique, human and equine! Winston Churchill said “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man”—and woman, and children of all ages.
Simply put, everyone should have an opportunity to enjoy life and horse around. I look forward to scheduling your visit. Thank You.

About our Lesson Program
Our motto is Safety - first, last and always, and that will never change! Adults and children of all ages and experience levels (beginner through advanced) are welcome. Riders, parents and/or guardians must sign waiver forms prior to the first private lesson.
All diciplines (English and Western) are offered. We provide experienced horses, tack and other necessary equipment, including helmets & some boots for you to utilize.
Owner-operator Michele R Clark is the only coach-instructor. We are non-competitive; our goal is to help the student meet their fullest potential. While consistency is the key to horsemanship, you are not required to sign-up for a set amount of lessons on a specific day or time. We schedule to fit your needs. Your first assesment lesson is private, one rider and instructor. Lessons are generally 1 hour and cost $35. When appropriate, group lessons are available. Most lessons are held Monday thru Friday, 5:00-7pm when school is in session, most Saturdays 8am-2pm. Summer hours are expanded and flexible. Other weekday hours are available through out the year. Time slots fill quickly and we try to be as flexible as possible to assist your schedules.

Horse Leasing Options We have horses to lease after confirming a good fit for both horse and rider, and most important "safety". Every horse and rider are evaluated through private lesson(s). We are flexible and work within your schedule and budget, starting at $150 per month. Horses that are available for lease include but are not limited to:
Allie : The Big Girl 15 years old Belgian Mare 17hh, 2100lbs, has western and english tack that fits, kids and adults do ride her in the ring but she needs a strong rider due to her size. She is a gentle giant, well mannered, and has won many gymkahna and pleasure ribbons at fair.
Arrow: 9 years old, 14.3hh, 800lbs, quarter paint gelding. Wonderful, gentle, well mannered, beginner-advanced, western and English. He does it all! Duke: 15 years old, 15.2hh, 1000lbs Tennessee walker gelding. Ditto from arrow, just bigger and has more gates being a walker. Comfortable! Gilligan: 16 years old, 16.1hh, 1000lbs quarter paint gelding. Ditto again! Very well mannered, gentle, beginner-advanced, western and English, push buttons and ready to go! Shadow: 14 years old, 15hh, 750lbs Arab-Saddlebred mare. She needs a confident rider and is a beautiful floater. Very athletic, quick learner and eager to please.
Big barn: 9 stalls. Smaller barn: 5 stalls and tack cabinets. All stalls are 10 x 12 and completely matted. Middle : feed room. We believe in customizing feed programs to fit the horses needs. We are very pleased with the results of Nutrena feeds, and will adjust feed brands to the owners request. Quality Hay and clean water are always provided. We take pride in keeping it neat and tidy!
The indoor arena
50 x 80, completely open so you can horse around inside on bad weather days. Also utilized in the really bad weather for small group turnout. We have toys to play with! Jumps, barrels, poles, balls, tarps, noodles and other stuff available to keep you busy.
Tack cabinet and stall front
Your tack is safe in this spacious place. Big enough for two saddle racks plus grooming supplies, boots and more. Horses can enjoy the freedom of top open doors, but we can enclose the horse if needed.
The Herd: Are you taking our picture? Wait, I need to fix my hair!
As you can see, the entire herd goes out together. We feel horse are like people: hanging out, eating, and playing together equals happiness! Since this herd is out daily and fed well, they all get along fine. Of course, if there is an agreeable medical condition, we adjust as necessary. We have one large pasture, approximately 3 acres. Another pasture, approximately 1acre that can be separated into two sections or opened together, with a dry paddock in the middle. This section is utilized for getting out in muddy and snowy conditions and not sinking to their knees / hocks. There is room behind and besides the barn also utilized for turn out. So, we can rotate pastures. Keep in mind we turn out daily, working with the Ohio weather, we have grass, but it's not always beautiful. That's why we feed quality hay and grain daily.
Leases: Love making snow and mud angels! We have great horses available for lease. Interested parties must prove safe skills and a good horse-rider fit while participating in lessons before we move forward with leasing. We offer full and partial leases, from $100 to $300 per month. We custom design a lease that is right for all involved. Our focus is to keep the horse and rider safe and happy, stressing "out with the herd time" and not over-working any animal.
Baby Corona followed me everywhere! He came to us just three days old and with no mom. He was / is a rescued nurse mare foal. Lots of buckets of milk, time and loving care later, he's healthy and very happy. We have decades of experience with moms and babies, gelding and mares of all ages.
We Rough Riders are ready to enjoy a "safe riding lesson". Kids of all ages, sizes and shapes, and experience levels are welcome to enjoy individualized and group whole horsemanship lessons. We play with lots of toys, also known as nuisance training, to assist in preperation of the un-prediticitable nature of animals.
We enjoy the beautiful trails with all the seasons. This is Ohio! Wait a minute, it will change. The horses need daily attention all year round. We do have the indoor arena for those really crazy weather days.
